page 1 page 2 page 3 |
Another pair of special 30th anniversary AMX in Italian "Aeronautica Militare" service models were made. Assembly was done as described on page 1. For the base grey FS36280 I airbrushed FS36270 in stead.
SCHEME 2 is for the second AMX model as MM7114 of "Aeronautica Militare" 28 Gruppo with "Witch" (starboard) and 13 Gruppo (port). This is the most difficult scheme to make with the custom decals. Both vertical tail sides, spine and upper nose areas were airbrushed black. After airbrushing a gloss varnish undercoat, the decals were set. At starboard first the white custom decals, followed by the yellow coloured "witch"decals. It requires careful decal layers alignment. At port, first the white decal and than... ... followed by the green decals with pattern... After the decals had been set on each model, the remainder of the built was done as described on page 1... Only the pylons were installed. AMX model as MM7114 of "Aeronautica Militare", 30th anniversary scheme, 2019. Tails of 28 Gruppo and 13 Gruppo .... ... at Istrana..
SCHEME 3 made is the dual trainer AMX-T. Assembly and painting was very similar as described earlier for the single seat Ghibli. But it was decided to open up an avionics bay panel on the starboard nose side. This was done with a Tiger razor saw. (to be detailed later). SCHEME 3 is for AMX-T coded MM55044 of 132 Gruppo (starboard) and 101 Gruppo (port). Made with my custom made decals. Want a sheet? Look at The Decal page... The starboard red tail was airbrushed with Gunze Sangyo H23 red. Masking and airbrushing... And the port tail side white. After the gloss varnish was applied... decalling in progress... The "custom" decal set, first white decal followed by black custom decal ... After the decals had been set on each model, the remainder of the built was done such as the cockpit interiors, landing gears etc. This was described on page 1.... The refuelling probe was installed. The cockpits were detailed and got custom made instrument panel decals. The opened up avionics bay was detailed with scratch details looking at photos in the Ghibli book. The twin canopy has a blast screen which is in the kit. It had been painted gloss black and got 2 tiny mirrors installed at mid frame for pilot and and at the rear for the instructor from scrap as the twin canopy was set open. The remainder of the built was done as described on page 1... No pylons were installed so the "open holes" in the lower wing halves were closed up with white glue and painted when dried. AMX-T coded MM55044 of 132 Gruppo (starboard) and 101 Gruppo (port), 30th anniversary scheme, 2019. .. starboard side scheme 132 Gruppo... .. set at a base... That completed all 3 AMX 30th anniversary models ...
Another few 1/72 Italeri AMX kits were made with some conversion effort to a Brasil EMBRAER AMX A-1.... See next [ Page 3... ]
