The models were otherwise simply put together, making sure to have some some corrections to take the swapped wings. More details will follow...

opened up Nose cone of the Fujimi EA-6A; make sure to cut at the right panel line, the kit part being not the hinged part. Also added hinges from thin metal.

the stairs will also be set open; I got an Airwaves set, but that doesn't fit!! Such kind of errors are often found in extra bought accessories sets, reason why I prefer to make my own conversion in most cases!

Also, the seats were detailed with sprue and card. Cockpits will be detailed later on, as they can be reached.

Details of the seats can also be found on the internet! Check it out!

The EA-6A Intruder would get the older USN scheme with paints used:
- FS36440 Gull Grey: used Humbrol Authentic, an older paint can I had...
- FS36875 White: used plain white (first matt undercoat, followed by gloss paint).

The Fujimi model made in 2001 was given the first paint coats using the Badger Model 150.

I decided to do the overall painting first, leaving the detailing of smaller parts in the cockpit area for later. Also, the radar area will be detailed later. This way I prevent damaging delicate parts later on when you do the painting later on.

[2] The model was completed using a combination of the kit's decals and a  Microscale set. Set 72-128 has fine markings (but for A-6A's)  and includes good stencilling.

The Fujimi kit decals for the squadron VAQ-309 was combined with the Micro stencilling.

Final details included:

- ECM jammer pods with some decals from the Fujimi kit
- opened ladder, made from thin cart
- rear air brakes with opened up holes
- lights and anti collision beacons from Micro kristal clear and some transparent bits and pieces
