The Dutch Government ordered for the Royal Netherlands Navy the
British Armstrong Withworth (later Hawker) Seahawk to be deployed on their
aircraft carrier Hr.Ms. Karel Doorman
in the nineteen fifties and sixties. It was used successfully.
Some 22 Hawker Sea Hawk mk.50, delivered 18 July 1957 to 29 January 1958.
Serialed 6-50 to 6-71 (later
111 to 131). Equivalent to FGA.7. Withdrawn 23 October 1964.
Served with 860 and 3 sqns
as fighter-bomber.
The Dutch Mk.50 was very similar to the FAA Mk.6 but the Dutch aircraft had a different Philips system antenna on top of the fuselage.
